Reasons to Come & Stay in Llandudno After Lockdown
IMAGE

As we are currently experiencing a lockdown in the UK, which prohibits all unnecessary travel, many of us are instead thinking beyond the lockdown and to where we would like to visit when we can once again explore the UK. Hotels Llandudno offers more than just your average hotel break away by the seaside - not only are we home to the world famous herd of rouge goats who have taken over the town since lockdown, but we have some of the best scenery in Wales.

Romantic Atmosphere

There is something quite charming and surprisingly romantic about this small Welsh seaside town, with beautiful swaying palm trees, two lovely beaches and spectacular Victorian architecture. Perhaps one of the most romantic spots, shrouded in the Welsh myths of dragons, and lost lovers. For couples, Llandudno offers a weekend-getaway from local English cities or even European countries - with lots of wonderful local restaurants and pubs to explore in the evenings, and stunning countryside and seaside coastline to find adventures on during the day.

Llandudno Pier

The longest pier in Wales, reaching 700 meters out into the bay, offers some of the best views back towards the Victorian promenade - not at least during the daily sunset. Opened back in 1877, it has been an iconic monument of Llandudno ever since. Free to walk along, you’ll find a nice mixture of traditional style stalls, shops and entertainment. There are plenty of spots to stop and enjoy the scenery and rest your legs with an ice cream - but do watch out for the brave seagulls that call Llandudno their home!

The Great Orme

This large headland is the local pride and joy - which can be conquered by foot, bicycle or on the charming and historic Great Orme Tramway which will take you to the top with ease. The Great Orme is home to some wonderful local nature and the views from the top are absolutely worth the visit. At the summit there is a restaurant so you can grab a quick bite before making your way back down - but you shouldn’t miss the rare Bronze Age Mines that were discovered here, and can now be explored safely for a small fee.

Conwy

Strangely, one of the biggest attractions of the area isn’t located in Llandudno, but a short drive away instead. The nearby town of Conwy should be explored if you have the time to spare, home to the magnificent Conwy Castle which is one of the best castles in Wales and is a protected UNESCO world heritage site. The views from the top of the towers are simply stunning - on a clear day you can see right across to Deganwy, over the estuary and the town of Conwy itself.
