Brunching and Lunching in Conwy
IMAGE

Venturing round the County of Conwy is definitely worth the journey if you are a foodie and love a relaxing weekend. The food scene in Wales has become more than just the traditional laverbread, cockles, bara brith, and Welsh cakes. It’s now an exciting land of local produce, small businesses and exciting menus.

Conwy has lots of hidden gems for food. You’ll find the best bakeries off the highstreet, and the best cafes out of view. We’re going to reveal some places to eat conwy has to offer:

Groes Inn

This quirky restaurant sits outside of Conwy in Ty’n y Groes, nestled between the Afon Conwy river and the start of Snowdonia. This establishment claims to be the first licensed restaurant in Wales, dating back to 1573.

The full-of-flavour menu is great for meat eaters, and includes classics such as rack of lamb, battered cod, and fillet steak.

Alfredo’s

Alfredo’s is a family run Italian restaurant which serves authentic food. It’s large and enticing menu leaves guests spoiled for choice. Pizza is one of their most popular dishes, and you can pick and choose what you would like to top it.

This place is a locals favourite, and for a good reason too. It can get busy, so it's advisable to book ahead.

Bistro Bach

This cosy Bistro is on Mostyn Avenue, and serves up a delicious selection of French inspired options with a Celtic welsh twist. It has married flavours of both regions together amazingly to produce some mouth watering food - definitely one to try.

The Manor

The Manor is nestled in the grounds of Gorse Hill Lodge and Caravan Park, just outside of the town. They have a great selection of pub grub and more exotic dishes on the menu, great for pleasing a large group.

The restaurant is in a beautifully restored 19th Century Manor house with views over the Conwy Valley.

Amelie’s

This is another French style bistro in Conwy. You probably wouldn’t spot it if you were just walking down the high street - it’s hidden above the ground floor.

You can expect a classic lunch menu, with some special options too - but everything comes out special here. The cakes are something quite devine too. Amelie has multiple options to suit people with dietary requirements, and their chocolate and almond cake should be tasted by everyone even though it's gluten free!
