Mark Sciberass and Olivia Dixon opened the John Lynn’s Black Belt Academy in new premises on Abergele Road, Colwyn Bay in March 2008 creating a centre of excellence for Karate and Kick Boxing.

Mark and Olivia have created a friendly environment for people of all ages and abilities to become involved in this ancient art. Mark has ten years teaching experience and 15 years experience in Martial Arts and is a certified instructor.

The aim of the centre is not only to teach the skills of kick boxing and karate but also to teach respect towards parents and teachers and on a number of occasions where children have attended regularly there has been a dramatic improvement in attitude and behaviour. The award winning program will equip children with the skills to develop into well rounded adults with an ability to improve their concentration whilst learning practical self defence skills.

There are many different classes available to suit ages from 4½ years to 90 years. The Academy is open Monday to Friday from 12.30 pm with classes running from 4pm – 9pm (Closed Bank Holidays).

Martial Arts equipment can be purchased through the shop.

Children’s Birthday Parties can be arranged including food and 90 minutes of activites - £8 per child.  This is available to Members and Non Members.
